Protótipo de carro denuncia brutalidade policial contra negros

A Courageous Conversation Global Foundation trabalhou com a Goodby Silverstein & Partners para desenvolver um protótipo de um veículo projetado para proteger os negros da brutalidade policial durante paradas de trânsito rotineiras.

Chamado de DWB - "Driving While Black" - o sedã possui alguns atributos que o tornam, segundo anunciado, "totalmente equipado para sobreviver ao perfil racial".

Um curta-metragem (assista aqui), produzido no estilo de comercial de automóvel, destaca que entre os “recursos de segurança” do DWB estão portas transparentespara eliminar suspeitas razoáveis”, um volanteque mantém as mãos visíveis o tempo todo” e nenhum porta-malas ou porta-luvas, para eliminar a necessidade de revistas.

A placa do carro, "3X", é uma referência ao fato de que, nos EUA, os negros têm três vezes mais probabilidade do que os brancos de serem mortos durante encontros com a polícia.

O filme conclui que “um carro não resolverá o problema” e alerta que "só nós podemos fazer isso". O público também é convidado a visitar este site para obter mais informações.
